Pseudocheirus peregrinus

Naaaaaaa? Was ist denn das? Zu deutsch heisst dieses Tierchen Ringschwanzbeutler, auf Englisch Ringtail possum (Familie Ringbeutler). Keine Ahnung ob der hier ein Maennchen oder Weibchen ist, obwohl ich von unten fotografiert habe... Wer mehr wissen will kann unter http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudocheirus_peregrinus nachschauen.
What is that? This animal is a ringtail possum. I have no idea if this one here is a male or a female although I took a picture from the bottom...

Das hier ist Trichosurus vulpecula, der Fuchskusu, auf Englisch Common Brushtail Possum (Familie Kletterbeutler). Er ist das am haeufigsten in Staedten vorkommenste Beuteltier. Es ist zirka 35 – 55 cm lang und hat einen 25 - 40 cm langen Schwanz Das Männchen wiegt bis 4 kg, die Weibchen nur 1,5 - 3,5 kg. Leider hab ich dieses Foto nur geklaut und noch keins gesehen aber ich komm ja bald an die Ostkueste.
Ich hab auch noch gelesen, dass er vielleicht schon nach Europa eingeschleppt wurde uns sich gerne nachts ueber unbewachte Obstbaeume hermacht. Das heisst dann wohl bald Nachtschicht beim Klopfen, vielleicht fallen auch ein paar Psylloidea mit (das konnte ich mir nicht verkneifen), oder es muessen doch noch grosse fiese Raubtiere in Deutschland eingefuehrt werden, wie den Drop Bear, denn was Menschen angeht findet der hier sich ganz gut zurecht.

This one here is the Common Brushtail Possum. No other marsupial is as common in the city. It is 35 – 55 cm long and has a 25 - 40 cm long tail. The male weights up to 4 kg, the female 1,5 - 3,5 kg. I am sorry to say that I stole this picture and I have never seen one on my own but hopefully soon when I get to the east coast.
I also read that it is maybe already introduced in to Europe and it likes to pitch into unguarded fruit trees in the night time. Sounds like night shift while banging trees. Maybe you'll find some Psylloidea (sorry for that insider joke but I couldn't help it), or Germany has to establish some large mean predators like the drop bear because this one is not scared of humans, it likes to live with them.
